These shoes are made with cotton, and a flexible rubber to allow your feet to move freely, without the stiff feeling while doing martial arts and other kinds of sports. Inside the shoes are a soft cushioned sole, so you won't feel everything when you wear these shoes, and will have support for your feet. This particular model have 12 kohaze (clips) so they come up to just below the shin, and are easy and comfortable to hide.
